Panasonic AJ-HPX3000G : The Big Brother of P2 |
| |
| |
Tired of messing around with wanna-be DPs with an HVX P2 camera?
Welcome to the world of professionals and the Panasonic HPX3000G.
The smaller P2 cameras have their place, but if you want a quality HD product, you
are going to need a quality lens and an HD codec that can record in full 1920x1080.
The AVC-Intra codec uses intra-frame compression that can't be beat when matched
with my HD Canon lens. This camera also offers the DVCPRO HD codec, if that better
fits your post-producton work flow.

Workflow: |
| |
Panasonic's P2 workflow is well established and has been adopted by many networks
and independent production facilities. With today's 64 GB P2 cards, much of the
barrier-to-entry costs have disappeared. But, you still need to be cautious while
handling data transfers in the field. That's why an experienced
DP is invaluable to
a P2 format shoot.
So remember, not all P2 cameras are the same. And neither are their operators.
